Methi parathas are a variation of the pan-fried Indian flatbread, flavored with fresh fenugreek leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric and red chili powder.

Ingredients of Methi Paratha

  1. It’s 1 and 1/2 cup of wheatflour (atta).

  2. Prepare 1 cup of chopped methi,leaves.

  3. Prepare 1/3 cup of grated carrot.

  4. It’s 1/3 cup of finely, chopped onion.

  5. It’s 1 tsp of chopped, green chilli.

  6. Prepare 1/4 tsp of cumin seeds.

  7. Prepare 1/3 tsp of carom seeds.

  8. Prepare 1/4 tsp of garam masala powder.

  9. It’s 1/4 tsp of crushed dried methi powder.

  10. You need 1/3 tsp of dried, ginger powder.

  11. You need 1/3 tsp of salt.

  12. You need 2 tbsp of clarified butter (ghee).

  13. It’s as required of Ghee/oil to fry Parathas.

Parathas are traditionally eaten as a breakfast dish or a tea-time snack.

The wheat flour dough combines methi leaves and carom seeds, both of which are excellent aroma and flavour boosters.

Methi Paratha instructions

  1. Clean, wash and finely chop green and fresh methi leaves of one cup..

  2. Mix well all the ingredients including chopped methi leaves, in a mixing bowl..

  3. Add water as required, to make the dough, a bit hard than the dough, we make for Roti..

  4. Cover the dough for 15 minutes. Make balls of equal size out of the dough..

  5. Make parathas with the help of a rolling pin. Heat a skillet. Fry the parathas with ghee on both sides on low to medium flame. Serve hot Parathas with curd/raita/Aloo curry..
