In a large bowl mix together the tomato puree with the yogurt, garam masala, chilli powder, garlic, mango chutney, salt and sugar.

  1. Make keema out of the chicken breasts with the help of a food processor..

  2. Now take all the ingredients for making kofta and mix well to form a lump with the food processor..

  3. Add cornflour and make lime size balls out of the keema mixture..

  4. Shallow fry them in a pan till light golden brown..

  5. Keep them aside..

  6. Now squeeze 1 orange to take its juice..

  7. In a mixer jar add plum pieces and blend with little water..

  8. Strain the pulp to take out its juice..

  9. Heat a saucepan. Add oil and onion paste..

  10. Saute for a minute. Add ginger-garlic paste and chillies..

  11. Add orange and plum juices and give it a boil..

  12. Add salt, sugar and red chilli flakes..

  13. Cook the gravy for about 5 minutes to thicken it..

  14. Add the prepared koftas and mint leaves..

  15. Stir gently. Simmer for 3-4 minutes..

  16. Take 1 teaspoon of Cornflour and mix with 2 tablespoons of water..

  17. Add the mixture to the kofta curry and mix..

  18. When the gravy comes to desired consistency, check the seasoning and remove from heat..

  19. It will taste sweet, sour and little pungent with citrusy flavour..

  20. Serve this sweet and sour kofta curry with steam rice or chapati..

Since kids loved the burger patty I thought of sneaking it in the gravy for Roti.

Heat ghee with oil and add bay leaf, cumin seeds and red chilly.

Add onion paste ,ginger garlic paste after masala crackles.

Add all the dry masala with little water, mix well and pour into fried onion paste.

Whenever I make this recipe, I remember our sweet, innocent childhood memories.
