Oats idli. A quick and instant recipe of idli made with oats. This recipe is similar to the way we make Rava idli. apart from oats, I have also used rava or cream of wheat in the batter. On occasions, I do add few veggies in the batter and at times I make the idlis without any veggies.
Rava Idli and this oats idli are a stand by when I do not have stock of idli dosa batter but prefer to eat idli.

Prepare 1 cup of Oats.

It’s 200 gm of Curd.

It’s 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.

Prepare 1/2 tsp of Urad dal/lentil.

Prepare 1/4 tsp of Chana dal.

It’s 1/2 tsp of Oil.

Prepare 1 of Green chilli.

Prepare 1/2 cup of Grated carrot.

Prepare 1 tbsp of Coriander leaves.

Prepare 1/2 tsp of Eno fruit salt.
Oats - This is the star ingredient of this Idli recipe.
Opt for instant oats and powder them in your mixer grinder before mixing it with other ingredients.
You can even use rolled oats for this recipe.
Semolina - Along with powdered oats, semolina is also added that enhances the texture of Oats Idli.

Dry roast the oats and make a powder..

Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds to crackle.

Now add chana dal,urad dal and fry till brown..

Add in the oats powder and curd..

Add little water and salt now the idly batter is ready(neither too runny nor to thick) mix it well.

Keep aside for 15 mins.

Now add eno fruit salt just before making idly and again mix it well..

Grease the idly plate and add grated carrot and coriander leaves and now pour the idly batter into the idly plate and microwave in high for three mins..
