Khara bath or rava bath is a breakfast from Karnataka made with semolina, mix veggies and spices. It is a variation of the most popular Rava upma.

  10. Prepare 1 tsp each of Mustard seeds, urad dal and chana dal for seasoning.

Combine the colloidal oatmeal (USA / Canada) and a wee bit of sweet almond oil (maybe a teaspoon) in a small dish, stirring and mashing to break up any clumps until you have a uniform mixture.

  2. Do the seasoning with mustard and dals..

  3. Add green chillies and then fry onions for a while. Put in tomatoes and wait till it gets cooked..

  5. Now add the cumin powder, salt and red chilli powder. Put in the curry leaves. give few stirs..

  6. Add the oats and keep stirring in low flame for a minute..

  7. Pour 2 cups of water and cover the pan with a lid. In low flame allow to get cooked for 10 minutes and switch off the stove..

  8. Give 5 minutes resting time..

  9. Garnish with cashews, corianders and serve hot with any raita..
