Prepare 500 gms of Fish (I took Red Snapper or Laal bhetki).

It’s 1 of Large Onion.

It’s 5-6 cloves of garlic.

Prepare 1 inch of ginger.

You need 1 of small onion sliced.

Prepare 2 of Green chillies sliced.

Prepare 1 of medium tomato sliced.

It’s 1.5 tbsp of Mix Masala Powder.

Prepare 1/2 Tsp of Turmeric powder.

It’s 1/2 Tsp of Kashmiri Chilli Powder.

You need 1.5 tsp of Salt or as per your taste.

It’s 1/2 Tsp of Cumin Powder.

It’s 1 tsp of + 1/4 tsp Garam Masala Powder.

It’s leaves of Some Finely chopped coriander.

It’s 1 Tbsp of Oil (Refined or Mustard).

Prepare 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.

You need 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.
Add garam masala, coriander powder, salt and a cup of water to the above.
Add marinated fish pieces and cook till fish is done.
Garnish the dish with coriander leaves.

First Wash the fish pieces very well and keep aside..

Grind Onion, ginger and garlic into a fine paste and keep all ingredients ready..

Heat oil in a kadhai or wok and once it is hot, add to it mustard and cumin. The moment it splutters, add to it thr sliced onion and fry till translucent..

Now add tomato, green chillies and the onion-ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes or until it turns golden brown..

Now add little water and cook for another 1 minute..

Add the dry masalas and mix well. Add water to ensure dry masalas doesnt burn and give a stir. Cover the wok and cook until the masala is cooked. Normally we come to know this when oil begins to float over masla. But I have used very little oil, so here it is not the same case. Keep adding little water to adjust the consistency..

Once the masla is done, add a little water and mix well..

Now add the fish pieces and mix well. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes..

Add water as per your requirement for the gravy and adjust salt if you want. Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes..

Open the lid and give a stir. Add rest of the garam masala powder and mix well. Cook for another 10 minutes..
