  1. It’s 100 gms of Oats.

  2. You need 1/2 inch of piece Ginger peeled and chopped fine.

  3. Prepare 2 of green chillies finely chopped.

  4. It’s 1 sprig of curry leaves roughly chopped.

  5. Prepare 1 of tspn mustard seeds.

  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of split urad dal.

  7. It’s 1/2 tsp of Chana dal.

  8. You need 1/2 of lemon.

  9. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  10. Prepare As needed of Coriander leaves for garnish.

  11. You need to taste of Salt.

  12. Prepare 1 tbspn of oil.

  14. Prepare 1 tbspn of Peanuts crushed (optional).

Lemon oats is just oats upma with lemon flavour…I made it just like how we make lemon rice and it turned out super tasty.

The texture is purely your choice if you want it more separate then follow the technique I have mentioned in oats upma recipe.

How to make Lemon Oats Recipe.

Oats Lemon Rice style instructions

  1. Heat a pan and put oil,When hot add in the mustard seeds,split urad and Chana dal. After it splutters add in the chopped ginger,green chilli and curry leaves and saute for a minute..

  2. Reduce the flame. Take a small bowl and remove little portion of the tadka and keep aside..

  3. Now add turmeric powder,salt and water..

  4. Put in the oats and give it a nice mix. Keep stirring constantly. By this time the oats would get thick..

  5. If required add more water and bring it to the desired consistency. Then turn off the gas..

  6. Squeeze the lemon and mix well, check salt and adjust accordingly..

  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and the remaining tadka that we kept aside. Add peanuts if you like..

  8. Serve hot. Enjoy with family..

  9. Please note :- Here if you wish you can add some crushed peanuts also for added taste and crunch..

Dry roast oats on low flame until nice fragrant smell from the oats is released.

Heat oil in a wide pan.
