Recipe: Perfect TuRmeric Rice Delicious, fresh and tasty.

TuRmeric Rice. Add rice and turmeric; stir to coat. What you'll need: Long grain rice - my favorite rice to use to make this yellow rice is basmati rice, but any long-grain rice works.; Turmeric - I usually go for dried ground turmeric, but if you have fresh turmeric root and would like to use it, then grate it and add it to the rice.; Onion and garlic for extra flavor (optional). Add the rice, raisins, turmeric and garlic.

Add onions and garlic and cook until wilted.

Add broth, bay leaf, thyme, Tabasco, salt and pepper.

Uncover and stir with a fork.

TuRmeric Rice instructions

  1. Wash rice with cold water and mix with tuRmeric powder..

  2. Add into a pot of boiling water for some minutes to parboil then wash and set aside..

  3. Put pot on heat and allow to dry up, add vegetable oil and allow to heat up..

  4. Add tomatoes paste and all blended items and fry..

  5. Add meat stock/ruwan nama, maggi, tuRmeric powder, thyme, salt, and water then cover and allow to boil..

  6. Add rice, stir and cover to cook..

  7. Put sliced carrot, green beans and onions in a pan..

  8. Add little oil, curry, maggi and fry till it softens..

  9. Mix with your cooked tuRmeric rice and serve..
