Easiest Way to Blends at dinner Oats Semolina Uttapam with idli and Sambhar Delicious, fresh and tasty.
Oats Semolina Uttapam with idli and Sambhar. Oats uttapam recipe or oats uthappam - Uttapam is a thick pancake made with fermented batter usually made of lentil and rice. You can find the basic south Indian uttapam recipe here which is usually made of left over plain or masala dosa batter. Oats and semolina uttapam is always a hot favorite breakfast item for all South Indian's, try this Healthy Oats and semolina uttapam.
I made them with Oats,Rava and yogurt loaded with veggies.
Sambhar is also made with instant method.
Once the uttapam gets slightly brown from the bottom, flip it and roast the other side similarly.

Prepare of Uttapam.

Prepare 1/2 cup of Oats.

Prepare 1/2 cup of Fine semolina (rava).

You need 1cup of Yogurt.

Prepare As per taste of Salt.

You need 2 cups of Veggies,(carrot,capsicum,onion,tomatoes,fresh coriander).

Prepare of Sambhar.

Prepare 2 cup of Toor dal.

You need As per taste of Salt.

It’s 1 tsp of Turmeric.

You need 1 of small Bottle gourd.

Prepare 2 of Tomatoes.

You need 1 of large Onion.

Prepare 2-3 of Red dried chillies.

It’s Handful of Curry leaves.

Prepare 4 tbsp of Tamarind pulp.

Prepare 1/2 tbsp of Mustard seeds.

Prepare 2 tablespoon of Oil.

Prepare Pinch of Asafoteida (hing).

It’s 1 tablespoon of /as per taste Sambhar masala.

You need of Idli.

Prepare 1/2 cup of remaining Batter of uttapam.

It’s as required of Idli steamer.

It’s Pinch of Baking soda.
Once ready, place the uttapam over a plate and similarly make other uttapams and serve with coconut chutney or hot sambhar.
Cool slightly, demould and serve immediately with sambhar and coconut chutney.
Handy tip: To make ½ cup of oats flour, blend ½ cup of quick cooking rolled oats in a mixer to a fine powder.

Grind the oats in a fine powder..

Add in the yogurt, semolina and oats in a bowl. Mix well and let it rest..

Meanwhile we will make the sambhar. For that, first boil the veggies and dal with salt and turmeric..

Get the things ready for tempering the sambhar..

Heat up oil in a wok. Add in aisefotoeda and mustard seeds. Let them splatter. Then add the dried red chilies and curry leaves..

Pour in the boiled dal and veggies to it..

Add the sambhar masala and tamarind pulp.let it cook for 2to3 mins. Sambhar is ready..

Lets get back to uttapams. Get the veggies ready..

Heat up the skillet. Grease with oil. Spread the batter on it..

Sprinkle the veggies on top and let it cook until bottom turns golden brown and the top seems raw from nowhere..

Flip it and cook the other side as well. The same batter is used to make idlis too but additionally you will need to put some baking soda in it before steaming them..

Your Uttapam,Sambhar and idlis are ready. Serve hot and enjoy !!!.

Since Oats Idli features quite regularly on my breakfast menu, I end up roasting Oats and Semolina in bulk and storing it in an air-tight container.
The mornings when my family asks for Oats Idli to be made in the breakfast, I just need to grind the roasted Oats in fine powder and then make its Idli batter in curd.
