Recipe: Yummy Oats Sooji Appe Delicious, fresh and tasty.

Oats Sooji Appe. Add salt, dahi to the powdered oats and sooji mix to make the batter by adding just enough water. Add curd, mix well then add water to make batter like idli batter. Lastly add Eno and mix gently.

When cooked from one side, flip it.

When the Paniyaram/appes turn into golden color, serve hot with any chutney sauce of your choice.

Ingredients of Oats Sooji Appe

  1. It’s 1 cup of Powdered Oats.

  2. You need 1 cup of Sooji/Rava(fine).

  3. Prepare 1/2 cup of Curd.

  4. Prepare 1 cup of finely chopped customised veggies(onion, capsicum, carrot).

  5. You need 3 tbsp of Oil.

  6. Prepare Few of chopped Cashew nuts.

  7. It’s 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.

  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Urad Dal.

  9. It’s 1/2 tsp of Eno.

  10. You need As per taste of Salt.

  11. You need as required of Water.

  12. Prepare As required of Curry leaves.

The batter is poured in the Appe pan and cooked with little oil/ghee on both sides.

Suji Appam and relatively easy to make.

It is a healthy breakfast option.

Oats Sooji Appe instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix powdered oats and sooji with curd and some water. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes..

  2. In a pan, heat oil for tempering. Now add Urad dal, once the dal turns pink, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and chopped Cashew nuts..

  3. After 20 minutes, mix the batter nicely with some more water and make it like idli consistency. Now add the tempering and all the veggies and add salt as per taste, mix again.

  4. Heat the appe pan and add few drops of oil in all the moulds..

  5. Finally add the eno and give the batter a gentle mix. Pour the spoonful of batter in the appe pan..

  6. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes or untill golden from one side. Then flip all the appe and cook for more 2 minutes on the other side..

  7. Serve the appe with green chutney or coconut chutney..

To make instant rava paddu / sooji appe , ingredients used are very similar to the ones used for Instant Rava Idli, but I like Paddu better than Rava idli may be because of the amount of oil used on frying appe,.
