Ogbono soup is a delectable Nigerian concoction soup and it's super easy to prepare.
It's a thick and hearty stew made with Ogbono seeds (wild mango seeds) loaded with meats and fish simmered in a light delicious broth.
To make ogbono soup, cut the beef or chicken into medium-sized pieces and rinse them in a pot.

Prepare 1 cup of ogbono.

You need 1 kg of local chicken.

It’s of Dry fish.

It’s of Kpomo.

Prepare of Palm oil.

Prepare of Crayfish.

Prepare of Salt.

You need cubes of Seasoning.

Season the soup with salt, and bouillon stock cubes.
For those of you who don't know, bouillon stock cubes are simply made from meat stock, dehydrated vegetables, a small portion of fat, monosodium glutamate (MSG), salt, and seasonings, shaped into a.
Ogbono soup reminds me of my mother and how she used to make it with all sorts of vegetables.
I have a memory of her bending over a pot of ogbono soup, trying to make sure it tasted right.

Wash the chicken and cut into sizeable pieces.

Put them in a pot and then add some diced onions, 2 cubes of seasoning cubes, salt, add a little water and put it on fire..

Blend the ogbono and crayfish together and set aside.

Wash the dry fish and kpomo, cut into sizeable pieces, wash the oziza leaves and slice it, then set them all aside..

Put the blended ogbono in a bowl, add a little palm oil then use a wooden spoon to stir it until it mixes well with the oil..

Once the chicken is ready, put it down and then drain out the stock and set aside.

Place a clean pot on fire, once its dry add some palm oil and allow to heat for about 2 minutes..

Pour in your diced onions and then the ogbono than was stored in palm oil.

Stir for about 30 seconds and then add the meat stock. If the meat stock is not enough, then you can add some water.

Add the local chicken, dry fish, kpomo, pepper, salt ro taste and seasoning cubes. Stir well and then cover the pot.

Keep checking and stiring to ensure it doesnt get burnt..

Once the soup is well cooked, add the sliced oziza leaves, stir and allow it cook for another 30 seconds and then your ogbono soup with local chicken is ready..

Serve with any swallow of your choice.
One thing though, once you make a decision to cook this soup, one has to becareful as over seasoning can easily occur.
