Ingredients of Oats Moong Dal khichdi

  1. Prepare 100 gms of rolled oats.

  2. You need 50 gms of Moong dal.

  3. Prepare 1 tsp of Ginger paste.

  4. You need 60 gms of onion.

  5. Prepare 50 gms of peas.

  6. You need 50 gms of cauliflower.

  7. Prepare 75 gms of potato.

  8. It’s 50 gms of carrot.

  9. It’s 30 gms of French bean.

  10. It’s 2 of green chillies.

  11. It’s 2 of whole dry red Chillies.

  12. Prepare 1/4 tsp of whole Cummin seeds.

  13. It’s 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

  14. You need 1/2 tsp of Cummin powder.

  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Coriander powder.

  16. You need of Salt as per taste.

  17. It’s 3 tbsps of veg oil.

  18. You need 1/2 tbsp of butter.

  19. It’s of Salt as per taste.

  20. It’s of Approx. 4.5-5 cups Hot water.

  21. You need of Garnishing.

  22. It’s of Little coriander leaves chopped.

Oats Khichdi is an easy recipe that can be cooked without much effort.

It is considered to be nutritious and healthy as well as we use Oats, Moong Dal, and Veggies.

Oats Moong Dal khichdi instructions

  1. First wash the Dal and soak it for atleast half an hour..

  2. In the meantime….Wash, peel and chop the vegetables..

  3. Heat oil in a pot and add whole dry chilli and then Cummin seeds. Once it starts crackling add the potato pieces saute it for few minutes..

  4. Then add ginger paste,saute it and add the chopped onion,saute it again for one or two minutes. Then add the carrot and saute for few minutes..

  5. Then add rest of the vegetables,saute it. Add the soaked Dal and saute it..

  6. Add salt,If required add little warm water and cook it nicely..

  7. After few minutes, add Turmeric, Cummin and coriander powder and give it a good mix. Add about 2 cups warm water and cover and cook for about 10 minutes..

  8. After the vegetables have softened and cooked, add the rolled oats and mix well, then add about 2 cups water, mix well. Add the green chillies and coriander too, cover and cook for 5-10 minutes..

  9. In between the cooking process add half table spoon butter too and continue cooking. Check salt. Stir it once or twice in-between. Once the oats gets cooked and your khichdi has thickened up, your Oats Moong Dal khichdi is ready. Serve it with a dollop of butter / ghee and coriander leaves with pickles etc..

It tastes great when cooked with Ghee and served hot.

A quick fix for Oats Khichdi This Khichdi is a combination of two nutritious ingredients, oats and lentils.

While lentils such as moong dal are full of protein and fiber.

On the other hand, oats help in lowering cholesterol and even control blood pressure.
