Ingredients of Fish curry in orange juice

  1. Prepare 6 pieces of Catla fish.

  2. It’s 2 tsp of salt or as per taste.

Heat oil in a kadai or pan.

Fry the fish pieces till golden on both sides.

In the same kadai add ginger paste.

Drizzle with orange juice; sprinkle with orange zest.

Fish curry in orange juice step by step

  1. Clean, wash and then marinate pieces of fish with 1 tsp turmeric powder, salt; keep it for 5-10 minutes..

  2. For garam masala powder,roast cinnamon, green cardamom and cloves for a while,then cool it and make a powder..

  3. Heat oil in a pan,till it reaches smoking point..

  4. Add marinated pieces of fish,fry both sides till colour change, keep it aside..

  5. In same oil add onion paste,fry it till golden brown..

  6. Add ginger paste, cook it till oil separated..

  7. Add tomato puree, cook it again for 5 minutes..

  8. Add rest turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder,red chilli powder, cook it for 5-6 minutes..

  9. Add water and allow it to boil for couple of minutes..

  10. Now add cashew nuts paste, salt and sugar, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes..

  11. Add pieces of fish, again cover and cook for 5-6 minutes or till it done..

  12. In low flame add orange juice, orange zest, slited green chillies, prepared garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and put off the flame..

  13. Serve with steamed rice and enjoy..

Stir orange juice and ginger into butter; heat through.
