Remove seeds from gooseberry and chopped into small pieces.
Add shallots and green chillies and fry for a while.

Heat a pan or earthen pot (manchatty) and add oil.

Add ginger & garlic slices and saute.

Add sliced small onion, slitted green chillies, curry leaves and saute till onion turns slight brown..

Add salt, fish pieces and enough water to cook the fish.Cover and cook for 15 mins..
