Arachi vitta Meen kolambu. Sankara meen kozhambu added oil corrinder seeds dry chillies coconut paste big onion shallots garlic curry leaves fenugeek seeds chilly powder tamarind water. Puli Kuzhambu is one of the commonly made Kuzhambu in Tamil Nadu. In Arachu Vitta Puli Kuzhambu, we grind the fresh masala and add to the Kuzhambu instead of the instant Sambar / Chili powder.
Many have loved and tried it.
Here I am with another speciality of mine - Arachuvitta kuzhambu.
This is the arachu vitta sambar masala.
You can cook Arachi vitta Meen kolambu using 20 ingredients and 12 steps. Here is how you cook that.
Ingredients of Arachi vitta Meen kolambu

Prepare 3 nos of Pomfret fish / (cleaned and made to pieces) - min.

You need 1 no of Onion (medium size sliced) -.

It’s of Tamarind lime - small size.

You need of Water tamarind - required to make extract.

It’s to taste of Salt -.

You need 1 tsp of Chilli powder -.
-
You need 2 tsps of Coriander dhania powder / powder -.
-
It’s 1 cup of Coconut milk -.
-
You need of To grind.

It’s 1 no of Onion (medium size) -.
-
It’s 2 nos of Tomato -.
-
It’s 12 nos of Curry leaves -.
-
You need 8 nos of Garlic -.
-
Prepare 1 1/2 tsps of peppercorn whole -.

You need 2 tsps of Jeera -.
-
You need of To temper.
-
Prepare 4 tbsps of Oil (sesame oil/ sunflower oil) -.

It’s 1 tsp of Mustard seed -.
-
It’s 1/2 tsp of Jeera -.

Prepare 1/4 tsp of Fenugreek -.
Wash radish, peel the skin and cut it into round shapes.
Cook radish also along with tur dal keeping it in a small vessel along with dal as shown in the picture above.
Wash and clean the ayirai meen as per need to remove any sand or impurities.
Grind coconut, shallot, green chillies, black pepper, cumin together to a fine paste.
Arachi vitta Meen kolambu instructions

Soak tamarind and salt together in 1/2 cup water for 10 min..

When the tamarind gets mushy, combine them in water with your hand and extract the thick liquid in a vessel..

You can add another 1/2 cup water and repeat the process to get tamarind extract. Keep aside to use at the later stage.

In a kadai, add ingredients to temper first..

When the mustard pops, add sliced onion saute till it turns golden..

Add the grinded ingredients to the kadai with chilli powder and dhania powder and saute well till the raw smell leaves..

Add tamarind extract mix well. Close the kadai with lid and allow it to boil for 7 min..

Check for salt and add if you want more..

Add coconut milk mix well and add cleaned fish pieces. Allow it to get cooked for 5 min closing the lid.

Turn the fish onto the other side. Close the lid and cook for another 5 min..

By now the oil will leave to the sides of the kadai..

Serve hot with white rice and fish fry..
Fry the fennel seeds to red.
Now add the curry leaves along with chopped tomato and fry till the tomato gets cooked well.
