Chickpea (besan)laddu. To make besan ladoo (pronounced BAE-sen la-DOO), besan, or chickpea flour, is cooked in ghee until it is very fragrant and darker in color. Besan Laddu (or Ladoo) is a traditional Indian dessert made with chickpea flour, ghee (clarified butter), and sugar. This family favorite recipe is quick and easy to make, and is a great party pleaser especially during festive occasions.

It adds a slight crunch with the coarse flour.

You can use normal fine besan as well, which gives a melt-in-the-mouth feeling.

Besan laddu is a popular Indian sweet dish made of besan (chickpea flour or gram flour), sugar, and ghee.

You can cook Chickpea (besan)laddu using 4 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Chickpea (besan)laddu

  1. Prepare 1 cup of besan.

  2. It’s 1 cup of pure ghee.

  3. You need 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.

  4. Prepare 10-15 of chopped almonds.

Besan is roasted in ghee till golden brown appearance with a nutty fragrance.

Then sugar is added to it.

Pistachio pieces are also mixed in this mixture optionally.

Sweet balls are then made from this mixture.

Chickpea (besan)laddu step by step

  1. Heat ghee in a karahi & add besan, Cook on low flame till it becomes brown. Stir continuously..

  2. Switch off the flame & add powdered sugar & chopped almonds. mix them. Let it cool down..

  3. Now make laddus out of it, Garnish with almonds & serve..

Take a large non-stick skillet and add the ghee or melted butter to it.

Cook this mixture on low-medium heat, stirring constantly.

The laddu mixture is done when it looks golden and smells toasty and nutty.

Besan or gram flour is a flour of chana dal or split brown chickpeas.

Chickpea flour or garbanzo flour is ground up white chickpeas.
